STYLE OBSESSION: Sheer Maxi Skirts

I've never worn a MAXI SKIRT before - at least not since I stopped trying on my mom's clothes as a kid. But this summer I feel like doing things I've never done before and those I haven't done in a long time. Among the latter is dying my hair bright red and cutting me a straight fringe. Among the former is getting a tattoo, and ... a maxi skirt. Especially since maxi skirts have gotten especially sexy this year coming in sheer fabrics, supplied (in many cases) with a mini under-skirt. So I guess if I get into maxi skirt a little bit, this kind is the best to start. So far my top picks are by Topshop, especially the mustard-color one and the tie-dyed one - it's totally gorgeous.

Caught in the summer rain

Ironically, summer began in GREECE - the country so famous for its warm weather - with a rain! It was warm but pretty heavy, and I bet someone who was caught in it without an umbrella - or even with one - could have been soaked wet, which can be quite annoying if you're on your way to work, a meeting or simply have things to do and can't rush home for a change of clothes.

But I'm sure all of us also have some lovely memories related to a summer rain, those times when it made us happier rather than upset, or when we didn't really care if we got soaked and our makeup got smudged because we happened to be very happy that very moment.

Either way, summer rain has its special magic to it, it has that special smell and even after it's over the air keeps that strangely alluring fresh smell for a while. And everything looks so crystal clear after the rain... And, finally, as we all know, there is no rainbow without a rain! So, inspired by those thoughts and memories I put together this quick summer rain post. Kudos to Pinterest for helping me find some of those beautiful pics!

My perfect summer sandals

Since the end of last week when the BlOGGER login issues forced me to use Firefox which proved somewhat painful, I've been totally lazing off the blog over the last few days and I feel guilty for it. Truth is I'm a lazy person by nature (guilty as charged) and it's no good for me to take a break from something that is not my job (as in smth I'm being paid for) since it does no good for my motivation. But again - it's all BLOGGER's fault!
Anyways, now that I'm officially back into action, I will try to make extra effort bringing in some cool content and I'll start by showing off my new shoes! I've been looking for new sandals for some time now, and when I stumbled upon this pair at OYSHO last week at ATHENS MALL - it was love at first sight.

Here are several reasons why the shoes are perfect: they are wedges (exactly what I wanted), they are also clogs (which I also wanted), they are very medium height - which means I don't need to calculate exactly how much time I plan to spend on foot before putting them on, end - they were only 40 Euros, which means I can still get a new pair of flat sandals that I also really want without feeling like I'm spending too much.

To be honest I'm lusting over some block-color wedges too - I'm totally loving this trend, and who knows, I might just give in to it. But the classic brown leather goes with pretty much everything and until I can afford a giant wardrobe that some lucky ladies have - I'm gonna stick with practical approach to fashion.
